Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg

At our site in Halle we work with the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (MLU) and, in doing so, unite a 500-year-old tradition with our innovative approach of new material economics.

Together we benefit from the wide range of subjects of the MLU. The biggest and oldest university in Saxony-Anhalt was established in 1817 through the merger of the University of Wittenberg (established in 1502) and the Friedrichs University Halle (established in 1694). Today the university has 20,000 students and 340 professors. The lines of tradition of this university boast internationally respected developments in economics as well as, in particular, chemistry and other natural sciences which made a major contribution to the economic power of the region in parts of the 19th and 20th centuries.
