University of International Business and Economics

Global questions require global solutions: to promote the exchange on a sustainable industrial society, the Fraunhofer CEM works closely together with leading scientists of the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing (UIBE). There has been a cooperation agreement on questions concerning the economics of materials between the university and the CEM for some years already.

The UIBE was established in 1951 and is the leading business and economics university in China. It has more than 10,000 students including many from abroad. The university is jointly sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Commerce. Prof. Dr. Ulrich Blum, one of the founding directors of the Fraunhofer CEM, has been a visiting professor in Beijing since 2012.
